Which drakensang should i play first

Drakensang Store Page. Just started River of Time, and am enjoying it, but should I play this game first? Showing 1 - 2 of 2 comments. You can look at it two ways. If you want to play it in Chronological order, than River of Time is set before Drakensang. Doesn't really matter except some of the heroes you play with are younger in River of Time and older in Drakensang. Doesn't effect the stories one way or the other though.

If you want to play them in the order they were released than playing Drakensang first and then River of Time is the way to go. As such River of Time plays a bit smoother. The biggest feature which you should have already seen is the Fast Travel feature in River of Time, Drakensang doesn't have that feature. That's all. There isn't really a way to screw up big time so just have fun and play the game :. You can do everything you want.

Thanks again for the tips. Since you seem to know this game well, I'll just go ahead and ask: are there useless skills I should just ignore while distributing points?

Well, the most common approach is to make every party member a specialist of some sorts, and to give everyone a good base. Etiquette is one of the least needed talents there. It's good to give there a few points, but not too many.

One thing you should do relatively lots of points into is what is I think called "will power" there. The more points there are, the less likely wounds will appear. Some points should go into the healing skills, too. And don't forget to buy the special combat skills from the trainers! It is also important to put a few points into the base stats, too. Because they do influence all of the other talents, because the talents are based on that. Very, very, very important!

This way you get good and full descriptions of everything needed! There are already a few "hints" threads, so you could take a look into them, too. They are adressed according to their professions in diologs etc. They allow special approaches towards some quests, though. Thanks Alrik, I guess I'm all set then. It's pretty impressive if they've managed to make all the skills useful in some way, as I've understood the series has plenty of skills and stats. Too many RPGs give you the "option" to develop your own character, even though the game is balanced for only a certain type of character.

Yes, I like it as well - and that's why I like TDE-based games the upcoming "Demonicon" game might be an exception to this, and "Satinav's Chains" is a pure Adventure game. I agree with everybody else. I'd play River of Time with the expansion installed. Play ROT with or without the expansion, doesn't really matter. I enjoyed both games. I would buy either one and play it first and if you like that type of game pick up the 2nd game. They were not the best games I have ever played but I did enjoy them and felt they were worth the money.

The games are absolutely worth playing, but they are oldschool in a lot of things which will get on your nerves. Like the rat fight where you go down into a cellar for 20 minutes until you find out at the bottom that you simply cannot defeat the boss. Wizards are overpowered, because spellpoints regenerate fairly quickly.

But there is also a lot of good in them. Lots of athmospheric places, very often really close to what the gameworld is supposed to feel like. Personally i'd start with the first one because the second one is a prequel BUT it is full of references to characters and locations you experienced in the first game.

So, as is said: like the old, old TDE games they are full of fun, unfair encounters, great locales, tedium, cool character development and exploitable loopholes. I play it every week, i am allowed to say that. Keefe the Thief said:. You must log in or register to reply here. Top Bottom.
