So if you want a more traditional sock monkey go with this version here. One person found this helpful. We've had this game since February From day 1, my son loved it!
And actually, I did too! The premise of the game is simple. Hide the monkey. Draw cards to get clues about where the monkey is hidden. Rinse and repeat. So it never gets old. Sometimes we include a little bit of Warmer The board, timer, and cards are pretty sturdy.
The box The monkey lost his tail, but is otherwise in tact. Final thoughts: The thing I like about this game the most is that it helps kids to connect the dots in their mind, putting clues together to draw a conclusion. There is no complicated list of rules to remember, turns to take, or pieces to move.
We had a blast playing this game! It's so unlike your typical board games - it will get you up and moving! One person hides the monkey, and then with clue cards the players figure out where the monkey is by asking 'is it in a room with a desk? The box says it is a preschool game, but my 6-year old had just as much fun with it. I did too! My kids played with the monkey when we were done.
It's smaller than a typical sock monkey, and not quite as durable - I don't think it was meant to be treated like a stuffie. I sewed one of the seams back together and Monkey is back in action. This is our new game night favorite - love it!! This game was cute and good for younger kids. Ages any older than 5 it might be to easy for them. You are suppose to hide the monkey in a visable spot and the cards say things on it like is it in a room with a fridge?
Well any kid over 5 and even a 5yr. My 3yr. I have 2 girls - 3 38 months and 5. The 3 year old loves the game, but she doesn't quite get it. When its her turn to hide the monkey, she can't help but tell where it is almost right away.
Maybe its just my daughter, but I think its more a product of her age. She loves looking for the monkey and she always wants to play this game.
My only complaint is that the suggested age is not quite right for playing the game by the rules. My son likes this game but the monkey was not made very well. The first time we played it, his tail came off. I sewed it back on, no big deal, but thought it was important to mention. It's a very simple game and you could basically make your own version of it. However, my son does choose to play it and I doubt that even though you could make it yourself that I ever would have made it!
I love this game! I think it is so much fun. It puts a spin on hide and seek and the sock monkey is adorable. I will say however that when my package arrived the box was banged up some and the sock money tore at the seam already.
It can be fixed but this was only after a few times of us using it so that was a disappointment but the game itself is a blast.
Perfect for ages and I know plenty of older kids who like it too. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Great game. Report abuse. My 4 year old loves this game.
Such an easy concept for kids to grasp and play. Great game! The kids play it over and over again! Definitely worth the money. Back to top. Get to Know Us. Make Money with Us.
